Man Allegedly Scammed Into Paying Nearly $2,000 for TVs (That Didn't Exist)

A man said he was scammed into paying into a "friends and family sale."

A man forked over $1,800 to another man in a Natick Sears parking lot, thinking he was taking part in a “friends and family” sale on TVs, but was scammed out of his money, reported WCVB-TV.

The victim said he got a call from the man who claimed to be a UPS driver for a store, and offered a chance to take part in a discounted TV sale.

He met the man in the lot to complete the transaction. Feeling funny about it, the victim snapped a shot while handing over the money, said WCVB.
