Man Cannot Remember What Street He Lives On, Arrested On 3 Warrants: Natick Police

A man told police he couldn't remember what street he lived on, and the officers found that to be odd. So they went to Facebook for help.

NATICK, MA—Officer Melnik was riding shotgun on Thursday evening with Officer Crisafulli, nearing the end of field training.

What started as a routine stop turning into some fancy Internet footwork for both of them.

They pulled a car over for an expired registration, and all was typical, as the driver gave his license. Melnik noted the passenger wasn't wearing a seatbelt and asked for his identification, too, said police. He said he had none, but gave his date of birth. He could not be found in the registry database, according to police, and asking him again, he said he couldn't remember the name of the street on which he lives.

"Officer Melnik repaired to the confines of the cruiser and after some deliberation the Officers mutually agreed that not knowing the name of the street on which you live was out of the ordinary," wrote police on the Natick Police Department Facebook page. "A puzzle to be sure, but how does one resolve this riddle? Enter the Internet Police!"

After a short search, the officers found the man on Facebook by an image, which looked "just like the amnesiac on the passenger side of the vehicle." Police then found he had three warrants for an arrest in the system. With that, the passenger acknowledged who he was, and was promptly arrested.
