NATICK, MA — Natick police found something particularly fishy about a recent theft from a grocery store. A man walked out of a Natick grocery store with over $300 worth of seafood, police said. The man was caught on the grocery store surveillance camera.

Police said they got a call on May 16 from a local supermarket about food theft. The supermarket employee told police the man got away with the food on a bicycle. The department said they are usually wary of publicizing food-theft incidents since people who are struggling to get food on the table can find themselves in desperate situations.

Police chose to announce this particular theft because the items stolen, although they were recovered, included expensive seafood, police said. Among the fancy fish was Mahi Mahi, lobster, salmon and yellow fin tuna. In total, the man had just over $320 worth of food.

In a Facebook post, the department joked, "If ever there was an opportunity to teach a man to fish."

The man was wearing a beige jacket and grey sweat pants in the surveillance video. Police said he may be in his 60's.
