Massachusetts Department of Transportation Releases 2017-2021 Capital Investment Plan,
Includes Funding Natick Projects
BOSTON – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation released its proposed Capital Investment plan for 2017-2021 today which included significant aid for Natick projects. The goals for these strategic investments are targeted system reliability, asset modernization, and capacity expansion, in order to provide all Massachusetts residents and businesses safe and reliable access to various modes of transportation.
“Ensuring that all citizens have access to all of the great things that the Commonwealth and Natick have to offer is important,” stated Representative Linsky. “I am happy that the Department of Transportation chose to highlight these important infrastructure projects in the Fifth Middlesex and across the Commonwealth.”
Highway/Multi-use Path Program Funding:

· $8,247,295 for Framingham/Natick – Cochituate Rail Trail Including Pedestrian Bridge Over Route 9
MBTA/Accessibility Program Funding:

· $3,500,000 for Natick Center Station Accessibility Project
Route 27 Modernization:
· $12,944,901 for Reconstruction of Route 27 (North Main Street), from North Avenue to the Wayland Tunnel
Massachusetts Turnpike Resurfacing Project
· $11,500,920 for resurfacing of the Massachusetts Turnpike from Natick to Weston
