MetroWest Teens Among Group Honored As Heroes At Celtics Game

Teens from Natick, Sudbury and Westborough were honored at Celtics game for their work with Project 351.

BOSTON, MA — Three teens from the MetroWest were among 15 who were honored as "heroes among us" at the last home game of the Celtic's season. The group of teens were Alumni Leadership Council members from the the nonprofit Project 351. The three teens from the MetroWest were from Natick, Sudbury and Westborough.

Project 351 is a nonprofit with a goal of building a movement of youth-led service that transforms communities, elevates kindness, and advances opportunity. The 15 teens honored by the Celtics were chosen for training more than 350 middle school students on issues of race and bias, teaching skills and courage to positively intervene as an upstander and peacemaker and fostering the resolve of young people for greater unity and inclusion.

Joe Holihan of Natick was one of the teens honored. Houlihan is currently a junior at Natick High School and has been with Project 351 since he was in eighth grade. Abigail McLucas of Westborough and Madison Walsh of Sudbury were also among those honored.

The Heroes Among Us Award is presented to an individual or individuals who, through their unique commitment and humanitarian spirit, have made exceptional and lasting contributions to our community.
