Community Rallies Around Natick Couple Injured In Hit-And-Run

Multiple fundraisers seek to support Kimberly Gunner and Andy Colbert, who were seriously injured on Washington Avenue on Aug. 18.

NATICK, MA — A radio DJ's charitable foundation is raising money for a Natick couple who were seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision along Washington Avenue last week, just one of several fundraisers seeking to support them.

A pickup truck driver hit Kimberly Gunner and Andy Colbert as they were walking along a sidewalk on Aug. 18. Both were flown to local hospitals for treatment, and Gunner, who was impaled and run over by the truck, was still hospitalized as of Tuesday.

A Greg Hill Foundation fundraiser was seeking $5,000, but donations had hit $7,000 as of Wednesday morning. There will also be fundraisers at the Bills Pizzeria locations in Natick and Newton on Wednesday and Thursday — Gunner worked at the Natick location. Natick's Kells Beer Co. will be making a special beer with proceeds going to Gunner and Colbert.
