Murder Podcast Covers Framingham Woman's 1977 Disappearance

NATICK, MA — A 17-year-old Framingham woman was last seen 45 years ago leaving work at a restaurant in Natick, but local police have not given up solving the case.

The 1977 disappearance of Simone Ridinger is still an open case, and a unique murder podcast is diving into the details of the case, which Natick and Sherborn police are still investigating.

The Murder Sheet, which focuses on restaurant-related killings, released an episode about the Ridinger case this week, including new interviews with local police — and a request for witnesses from Ridinger's Framingham rooming house to step forward.

According to police, Ridinger, who grew up in Sherborn, was last seen leaving the former Rainbow Restaurant along Main Street in Natick on Sept. 2, 1977. Ridinger was headed to a family home in Martha's Vineyard that day, but never arrived at her destination.

The FBI maintains a tip page seeking information about Ridinger's disappearance, and about a housemate from Framingham who hung out at the Rainbow Restaurant.

The Murder Sheet is hosted by Insider reporter Áine Cain and Kevin Greenlee, an attorney who represents a sister of one of the victims of the 1978 Burger Chef murders near Indianapolis.
