Natick Company Helped Get UN Peacekeepers Camps in CAR
While they protect civilians, peacekeepers in Central African Republic (CAR) are living in base camps provided by Natick Soldier Systems.

While United National peacekeepers settle in Central African Republic (CAR) to protect civilians in a stabilization mission, they live and work in Force Provider base camps. These camps were procured by Product Manager Force Sustainment Systems at Natick Soldier Systems Center.
U.N. reps approached the Force Provider team in June of 2014 to ask about camps for this mission. According to a press release, FSS contracted with the UN for six Force Provider Expeditionary 150-person camps, which cost $19 million.

Force Provider usually works with the U.S. military, and working with the United Nations was a step into new territory.
“There was a concerted effort to make this (deployment) go through faster than normal channels,” said John MacDonald, lead production manager for the Combat Field Service Equipment Team, in the release. “The need was there. They had to get the capability.”
