Natick Food Pantry Gets $1K Donation From Credit Union

The $1,000 donation to A Place To Turn was one of 10 the Lowell-based credit union gave out this week.

NATICK, MA — The emergency food pantry A Place To Turn got a $1,000 boost this week from a Lowell-based credit union to celebrate "Pay It Forward Day."

Align Credit Union made the donation Tuesday along with nine other $1,000 donations to Massachusetts hospitals and food pantries responding to coronavirus. The MetroWest Medical Center, which includes Leonard Morse Hospital, also got $1,000.

"The impacts of the coronavirus have been rapid and far-reaching, and we want to recognize and support organizations that are providing critical services during the pandemic,” Align CEO Ken Del Rossi said in a news release. "Keeping our communities safe, healthy, and fed during these challenging times is paramount, and we will continue to look for ways to pay it forward."

A Place To Turn is still providing food to locals in need, but the nonprofit has stopped taking food and clothing donations to protect the health of workers. They are still accepting donations in the form of money or grocery store gift cards.
