Natick Gets More Than $10,000 in Grants for Arts

Natick received funds to help grow and market the Natick Center Cultural District.

Representative David P. Linsky, D-Natick, announced that the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) awarded grants for Fiscal Year 2015, totaling $12,500 in grants to cultural organizations and $14,980 in funding for local cultural councils in his district.

Linsky said these grants support a wide variety of cultural activities and projects that benefit local residents, while supporting jobs in the nonprofit cultural sector. The announcement was made as part of MCC’s statewide funding program.

“The cultural resources in Natick, Sherborn and Millis are quite extensive and these grants will go a long way to enhance the cultural community in each of the towns in my district,” said Representative Linsky. “I am especially pleased to see the Adams grant awarded to the Town of Natick to boost its marketing for the town center as a cultural destination. People come from all over the region to attend performances at TCAN and visit the neighborhood art galleries, and this will further support the economic development for the area.”
