Natick Hockey Coach Out After District Investigation

A letter from Superintendent Anna Nolin said William LaCouture wouldn't be appointed to any position within the district in the future.

NATICK, MA — Natick High School head hockey coach William LaCouture will not be returning to that role next year, or any year in the future, the district announced.

In a letter to the parents of Natick hockey players, Superintendent Anna Nolin said the district had completed a "thorough investigation" into allegations of misconduct by LaCouture.

"It has been determined that there is no scenario where Coach LaCouture will be appointed in the future as the Head Coach of the Natick Hockey Team, nor any other athletic coach, volunteer, nor any position that is affiliated with the Natick Public Schools," Nolin wrote.

This comes after complaints from over 20 athletes and their parents in January.

During the investigation, LaCouture was barred from communicating with any hockey players or their families and was instructed not to attend hockey activities.

Nolin said that further information into the findings of the investigation can't be released "as this is a personnel matter."

As for the hockey program, Athletic Director Tim Collins is working to identify a new head hockey coach for next season, Nolin said.
