Natick Marathon Alert: Safety and Traffic for Race Day
Info for runners, spectators and drivers in Natick for the day of the Boston Marathon. Know about closings, shuttle service and more.

NATICK, MA — On Monday, April 18, Natick will once again sit along the famous route where some 30,000 runners in the Boston Marathon pass through as part of the 26.3 miles through that starts in Hopkinton, and also heads through Ashland, Framingham and Wellesley to Route 16 into Boston on Route 30.
The Natick Police Department shared important information about the day.
The town prepares for the 120th running of the Boston Marathon early. The roads will close at 8 a.m., according to police.

This information is shared by the Boston Athletic Association detailing areas that are best to watch the race, as well as additional safety information.
"I would say [to watch the race] anywhere on the route that you can be comfortable," said Natick Lt. Cara Rossi-Cafarelli. "People tend to really crowd the downtown, making it difficult to see, but there are several miles of route to watch from. I would suggest that people plan ahead for the road closures and be patient as we attempt to re-open the roads as soon as we can. Bear in mind that we can't open our roads until we are sure that at least the next community (in this case Wellesley), has opened theirs."
