Natick Officials Organizing List Of Organizations Seeking Volunteers

News release from Town of Natick.

Town staff has been working for a few months to ideate and create a scalable, repeatable process that creates a simple view of all (most!) local organizations w/ volunteer opportunities.

ASK: organizations complete a short form (est. 5min to complete) by Fri 1/5/24 - https://forms.gle/e9PXmVGupCm5TEVA9

(if you're a prospective volunteer... please wait until the release in Jan '24. BUT, you can help to spread the word and get all/most orgs to submit their info via the above form)

Here's a timeline to full launch:

• Recruitment of organizations until Fri 1/5/24 (form above)
• Launch of public-facing webpage mid/late Jan '24

  • The directory is "filterable" to search and discover organizations that meet a volunteer's interests
  • GUIDANCE: organizations must need/seek 10+ volunteers (annually). This allows Town staff to focus on increasing visibility to volunteer orgs who need it most
  • These organizations could include groups like: Natick Service Council, Keep Natick Beautiful, Fraternal organizations, Senior Center, & more
• This form is designed with a number of character count limits, to ensure a highly viewable, easy-to-use website experience
• All orgs will provide a website URL to learn greater detail of any given org
• Town staff is set to update the directory twice annually (incl: recruitment of both new & updated volunteer org information)
• This Volunteer Directory is complementary to ServeNatick (an effort led by NHS students) which serves as a dynamic marketplace to match registered volunteers < > specific volunteer opportunities - visit servenatick.org to learn more
