Natick PD Shut Down Route 16 Due To Downed Wire

One lane of Route 16 has been reopened but Eversources crews are still working to fix the downed line.

NATICK, MA- Natick Police temporarily shut down Route 16, Tuesday near Memorial School due to a live wire that was down in the roadway.

According to Natick police, a small branch fell on the wire and caused a fire and subsequent power outage. Route 16 was closed for approximately 10-15 minutes before the fire department made the scene as safe as possible while waiting for Eversource.

Once Eversource was on the scene, one lane was opened to traffic with two Natick police officers guiding cars. According to police, Eversource predicts the situation will be over in the next 45 minutes to one hour.
