Natick Police Investigate Possible Hate Crime: Letters With Racial Slurs Left on Resident's Steps

Threatening letters were reportedly left on a Natick resident's doorsteps.

NATICK, MA—Natick police are investigating a possible hate crime as a resident reported receiving a series of threatening letters on his doorstep two days in a row over the weekend, said Chief James Hicks.

On Friday, Nov. 11, Natick police received a report from man who found two threatening letters on his doorstep on two consecutive days. The first letter, handwritten, was found at approximately 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10. The second letter, typed, was found at approximately 7 p.m. Friday night. Both letters contain profanity and racial slurs.

"This kind of behavior is not indicative of the values in the Town of Natick and will not be tolerated in our community," Chief Hicks said in a statement. "The department is taking this case very seriously and we will investigate to our fullest capabilities to ensure the safety and security of our residents."
