Natick Prepares for Hurricane Irene
Refer to this important information on how Natick is preparing for the hurricane this weekend.

As you read this, Hurricane Irene is barreling up the East Coast, causing people in its path to board their windows, stock up on water and food and get the flashlights ready.
Here in Natick this weekend, we're expecting heavy rains, flooding and strong winds which could potentially cause damage.
As of this moment, there are no plans for evacuation, but if evacuation becomes necessary, residents may seek shelter at the building at 75 West St. In case of evacuation, residents should bring "go bags" (see below) packed with necessary items, as well as a sleeping bag. Pets will be allowed if on leashes or in carriers and owners should bring their own pet food.

The town is advising residents to take the following precautions to protect themselves, their homes and businesses from the storm:
- Stock up on drinking water. Have about one gallon for every person in your home.
- Make sure you have non-perishable foods that you can eat if the power goes out, as well as a manual can opener.
- Stock your first aid kit.
- Have your flashlights ready, with batteries and extra bulbs, just in case.
- Get a whistle.
- Be prepared with personal hygiene products such as soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and feminine hygiene products.
- Have access to a land line or a phone that doesn't need charging.
- Stock up on child care and pet care supplies
- Buy Iodine tablets or a quart of unscented bleach (and an eyedropper) to disinfect water if necessary.
The town also advises that residents create a "go bag" of important items in case evacuation is necessary. The bag should include:
