Natick Public Schools Awarded with MyCAP Grant

DESE has awarded Natick Public Schools with $16,500 in grant funding for their MyCAP program

Boston Representative David Linsky (D-Natick) announced today that the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has awarded Natick with $16,500 for the My Career and Academic Plan (MyCAP). Natick is one of many school districts across the Commonwealth that received funding through this grant program. The grant provides money for school districts to attend professional development opportunities and team meetings outside of school hours. The MyCAP process allows students to identify individual skills, talents, and passions and use those to identify careers of interest. The plan assists students to then identify courses and extracurricular activities that align with these interests, and ultimately helps students to graduate high school with an authentic plan for success after graduation.

“This grant provides important funding to help Natick Public Schools continue to invest in the success of their students beyond high school through MyCAP, ” said Representative Linsky. “I want to thank DESE for awarding our school district with this grant that will have a long-lasting impact on all students in the Natick public school system.”

Across the Commonwealth, a total of $968,000 was awarded to public schools for this initiative.
