Natick Sports Memorabilia Store Gilbert's Burglarized
Gilbert's Sports Nostalgia was robbed of more than $20,000 worth of sports memorabilia, sparking an outpouring of support from locals.

NATICK, MA — Sunday marked an unwelcome first for Gary and Becca Gilbert at their sports memorabilia store.
The owners of Gilbert's Sports Nostalgia took to Facebook to share the news that the shop on Main Street was burglarized sometime overnight on Sunday.
"The glass front door shattered and the back window shattered when the front inside door didn't give.....so....lots and lots of damage and glass everywhere....and sadly, a TON of inventory stolen," the owners said.

As police continue an investigation, the owners said the shop would be closed while they clean the space and work to restock. They have also offered a $200 reward to find who did it amid an outpouring of support from community members.
"I feel very blessed to have so many wonderful friends and customers," Gary Gilbert said, on social media. "It has made this much easier to deal with."

In an interview with CBS Boston, Gilbert said the burglars knew what they were looking for, as much of what was taken involved big-name athletes like Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Steph Curry.
Among the items stolen were a signed Barry Sanders helmet and a soccer ball signed by Pele, not easy items to replace. Estimations of the value of items now missing clear the $20,000 threshold.
