Natick Store Destroyed When Car Crashes Through It, Community Raises Funds

A Natick business is temporarily out of business due to a car crash that took down much of the store.

NATICK, MA — While thankfully no one was hurt, Kristina Burkey's spirit and livelihood was crushed when a car crashed through her Natick business earlier this month.

On Sunday, March 19, an out of control car went through the front window of Calliope Paperie. "The front window, with her hand drawn rainbow sign and glittery rain clouds came crashing in, covering half of the store and most of her beautiful cards and gifts in a layer of dust, dirt and shattered glass," wrote Stacey Aleva Lee in aGoFundMe campaign she created for her friend.

The store will be closed indefinitely while Burkey determines what it will take to reopen. Meanwhile, more than $7,000 has been raised so far.
