Natick & Wayland Receive over $150,000 in Funding for Cultural Sector

State COVID relief funds will support thousands of cultural organizations and creative individuals

Boston - Representative David Linsky (D-Natick) announced today that the Massachusetts Cultural Council has awarded over 20 individuals and organizations in Natick and Wayland with Cultural Sector Pandemic Recovery Grants.

In December 2021 a $4 billion pandemic recovery package was approved by the Legislature and signed into law. This Act, Ch. 102 of 2021, directed the Mass Cultural Council to develop and administer grant programs to assist cultural organizations and artists recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and operate more efficiently moving forward. The Mass Cultural Council received $60.1 million in surplus state revenue funds to support this effort.

“This historic investment of state COVID funds is essential for propelling the cultural and creative sector forward,” said Representative Linsky. “I would like to thank the Mass Cultural Council for their commitment to supporting our cultural organizations, artists, creatives, culture bearers, and gig workers across Massachusetts.”
