Natick Wins 4th in National Cheerleading Competition

The Natick Junior Redmen 7th and 8th grade cheerleaders placed fourth in the country over the weekend, but they still need to raise money to help cover their expenses.

The Natick Junior Redmen 7th and 8th grade cheerleaders returned home from Orlando with smiles on their faces and a new standing—fourth in the entire country.

"Only the top one percent of teams nationwide have won a spot to compete for the national title in cheer, so just getting to Orlando is a huge achievement," said head coach Leslie Loughlin before the team flew to Florida on Friday. "The girls have worked so hard to get this far and are very motivated to bring the title home to Natick."

The 28 girls won first place at the BayState Competition in October and third in all of New England earlier this month.

Last week, the team could be for their $30,000 trip. For several days, in Framingham donated a portion of their sales to the team. Now that they're back in Natick, the girls are continuing to raise money to pay the expenses.
