UPDATED: Natick Woman Charged With Fourth OUI, Locks Herself in SUV With Two Dogs

A woman faces charges of drunk driving, and threatening police. She said police said they would 'shoot her dogs' if she didn't control them.

NATICK, MA—A Natick woman said she wasn't trying to avoid arrest when she rolled up her windows and locked her doors when Massachusetts Environmental Police stopped her for drunk driving. Rather, her lawyer argued that she was trying to protect her dogs.

Yvonne A. Kadik, 52, of Natick, allegedly locked herself in her SUV with her dogs at Cochituate State Park in Wayland on Sunday night when police pulled her over at a canoe launch, reports MetroWest Daily News.

Court reports said that Kadik, who faces her fourth OUI charge, smelled of alcohol and admitted to two drinks, and was in the park to walk her dogs. Kadik allegedly told officers to "just shoot me, "because I can't die. I have a bomb in here," reports MetroWest Daily.
