Young people from Natick Above the Influence at Natick High School, recently attended Kick Butts Day: Youth Day of Action, a virtual event hosted by The 84 Movement, a statewide movement of youth fighting against the tobacco and vaping industries in Massachusetts. As part of the event, the Natick youth participated in two legislative visits with Senate President Karen Spilka’s staff, Susan Nicholl, and Representative David Linsky and thanked them for removing flavored tobacco products, including menthol, from Massachusetts stores last year. They also discussed their concerns with mental health and vaping in middle and high schools. Participants included Haviland McEnaney and Julia Rossi, Natick High School students in Natick Above the Influence, and Nina Levine and Katie Sugarman, advisors to the group from the Natick Health Department.
