Obituaries: Albert Ordway, Paul Alcock

Albert L. Ordway Sr. 86, died December 31. A lifelong Natick resident, he was a Navy veteran of WWII. He served aboard the U.S.S. Quincy and fought in the battle of Normandy. After the war, he became a Natick firefighter, and served the department for 40 years. In 2010, he was honored along with his brothers Harold, Ronald, and Francis by the Town of Natick for his service with the dedication of “Ordway Brothers Square.”

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jeanne, and his son Albert Jr. of Natick. His services were handled by John Everett & Sons Funeral Home with burial in Dell Park Cemetery.

F. Paul Alcock, age 71, died on January 1. Born in Natick, he was a Vietnam veteran of the Navy, serving as an airman aboard the U.S.S. Ticonderoga. After the war, he worked as a truck driver for Mayflower Trucking and the Sunshine Biscuit Company. He later was employed by the Natick DPW until his retirement in 2006. He also volunteered as coach of the Natick Pop Warner Junior Redmen for over twenty years.

He is survived by 3 sons; Brian Alcock of Natick, Paul Alcock of Waterboro, ME, and Todd Alcock of Southborough and 9 grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. His funeral will be private.
