Natick Loses Treasurer-Collector Robert Palmer

Johnathan Summers “Jack” Kelly, 75, died June 18. Born in Boston, he worked as a computer specialist at Honeywell Corporation for most of his career. He was an avid camper, spending much of his retirement visiting the National Parks, and dedicated many years to the Boy Scouts as a parent and leader. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Carol, three sons and four grandchildren. Robert A. Palmer, 58, died June 24. A native of Maine, he had lived in Natick since 1993, and held the office of town Treasurer/Collector until his death. He was an enthusiastic fisherman, traveler, and Red Sox fan. He is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Rose, four children and three grandchildren. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the on Wednesday, June 27th 4 – 7p.m. Donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the Veritas Christian Academy, 6 Loker St., Wayland, MA 01778.

Frances (Woolf) Borts, 83, died June 24. She was born and raised in Montreal and moved to Natick in 1956. A teacher at the Brandon School, she also assisted Russian immigrants preparing for their citizenship tests. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 1989 and leaves 2 children and 1 grandson. Funeral services will be held in the on Wednesday, June 27, at 1 p.m. Rabbi Frank Waldorf, Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Sinai – Brookline will officiate. Burial will follow in the Framingham Natick Hebrew Cemetery. Donations in Mrs. Borts’ memory may be made to the Alzheimer Association of MA, 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472.

Eileen P. (MacIntosh) Capobianco died June 24. Born and raised in Nova Scotia, she attended Boston City Hospital School of Nursing. After her marriage, she lived in Natick from 1959-1995. She was heavily involved in local charitable work, especially with and local food pantries. She is survived by her husband Anthony, four sons and six grandsons. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday June 27, at 9:45 a.m. from the followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main Street, Northborough. A reception will follow the Mass in the downstairs hall of the Church. The private burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
