Joseph R. "Mickey" McHugh died January 5 at the age of 79. Born in Boston, he was raised in Newton, and joined the U.S. Marines after high school.
He is survived by his wife, Pearla and son, Darren, both of Natick, and 2 granddaughters. He was predeceased by a son, David. His burial will take place at the National Veterans Cemetery in Bourne on Wednesday, January 16, at 1 p.m.
Catherine T. (Manning) Hagemeister, 85, died Thursday, January 10. Born and raised in Boston, she settled in Natick with her husband in 1956. She had worked at the Liggett Drug Store in Boston prior to her marriage, and was dedicated to the war effort during WWII.

She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Thomas in 1990, and is survived by her daughter, Margaret of Natick. Her funeral will take place on Monday, Jan. 14 at 8 a.m. at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Linus Church at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2–5p.m.
