Mary F. Byrne, age 92, of Natick, died peacefully August 15, 2012, at home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Byrne.
Mary was a popular crossing guard for the Town of Natick for 30 years. She began a second career in security for Filene’s and Macy’s, retiring after 35 years of service at age 87.

Mary was an avid walker, traveler, reader, baker and Red Sox fan, She loved spending time with her family, especially in Maine and New York City, where she enjoyed Broadway shows. She also had great love and devotion for St. Therese “the little flower.”
Her family is grateful for the loving tender care given to Mary at Mary Ann Morse Nursing Home, Metro West Hospice and by her devoted home caregivers, Alicia, Claudia, and Maria.

She is survived by three children, Rosemary B. McGowan and husband, Paul, of Scituate, Richard Byrne and wife, Debra, of Framingham, and Maureen B. Collins and husband, Angelo, of Wickford, RI; four grandchildren, Michael Collins and wife, Jennifer, of Prescott, AZ, Taylor B. McGowan and wife, Sheri, of Norwalk, CT, Christina Pierozzi of New York City, NY, and Courtney B. McGowan of Scituate; and two great grandchildren, Lorelei and Lilliana McGowan. She was also the sister of the late Ida Walsh, Elizabeth Roy and Joseph Hurd.
Her funeral will be from the , 4 Park Street at Natick Common, Natick, on Saturday Aug. 18th at 8 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at , 119 Hartford Street, Natick, at 9 a.m. Interment , 180 Pond Street, Natick. Visiting hours are Friday, August 17th from 4-7 p.m.
