Parents of Children with Learning & Attention Disorders Recruited for Stress Reduction Study

Massachusetts General Hospital invites parents of children with LAD to participate in stress management research.

Parents of people with learning and attention disorders are invited to take part in stress reduction studies conducted by the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at MGH. BHI investigates the clinical application of therapeutic techniques to elicit the Relaxation Response – a physiologic counter to the Fight-or-Flight response, as discovered in groundbreaking research conducted by Dr. Herbert Benson of Harvard Medical School.

The study aims to elicit the Relaxation response, develop stress awareness and adaptive coping strategies, and promote positive well being. BHI is recruiting parents nationwide to take part in this integrative research. The resiliency training is delivered by video conferencing conducted by licensed clinicians, and no in person visits are required. Interested parents with inquiries or who wish to enroll should contact Emma Chad-Friedman at 617-643-6036, or email ParentalStressStudy@partners.org.
