Police Report 25 Car Break-Ins in 90 Days

The Natick Police Department is reporting that there has been an increased number in car break-ins recently. Most of the cars that had items stolen were unlocked.

The has seen a recent increase in car break-ins in town—25 across town in the past 90 days.

According to police, most of the break-ins occurred in September, with a large number happening in the last two weeks. It is estimated that 84 percent of the incidents occurred when the doors were left unlocked. A small percentage of vehicles had the window smashed or the lock cut to gain entry.

Items such as GPS devices, computers, chargers and cell phones have been reported stolen.

As indicated in a map created by the NPD, the majority of the crimes were reported in between West Natick and the center of town and many occurred overnight.
