Price of Electricity in Natick to Drop in 2017

A new 6-month contract will provide savings and will match Eversource Basic Service price schedule.

NATICK, MA — Natick’s electricity aggregation program price moves below Eversource Basic service in January 2017, the new price representing a reduction of 3.67 cent per kilowatt below the current residential program price. It's also nearly seven percent lower than the Eversource Basic Service proposed winter residential rate (10.318 ¢/kWh), according to a release from the town.

The new price will go into effect for program participants beginning with January 2017 meter reads. The lower price is the result of a 6-month contract between Natick and a new electricity supplier for the program, NextEra Energy Services.

Program participants can be assured of savings for the duration of this contract because neither the contract price nor Eversource pricing will change during the contract period, said the announcement.
