Recent Deaths: R. Scott Sawyer, Albert DiPietro
This column features recent deaths of Natick residents and natives.

- R. Scott Sawyer, Esq., a Natick resident, died March 19 after a battle with cancer at the age of 54. Sawyer was a volunteer for the Massachusetts Special Olympics, former president and board member of the , former vice-president and board member of the , former member of the Natick Planning Board, and former member of the finance committee. Visiting hours will be at on March 22, from 4-7 p.m. A funeral will be held at Fisk Memorial United Methodist Church on March 23 at 11 a.m.
- Albert DiPietro of Natick died on March 17. DiPietro was well-know for playing renaissance and baroque period music on his trumpet, performing at weddings and church services. He was a teacher and chairman of the Preparatory Brass Department at the New England Conservatory of Music and taught at Tufts University, creating the Tufts Brass Ensemble. He also taught at Cambridge's Longy School of Music and Belmont's Powers School of Music. DiPietro was a trumpet player in the Boston Chamber Opera, Portland Symphony. Visiting hours will be March 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. at .
