Redi, Natick's First Recreational Cannabis Dispensary, Now Open

NATICK, MA — Redi, Natick's first recreational cannabis dispensary, is officially open as of Friday afternoon.

The Spreen Street storefront is open this weekend from 12 to 7 p.m., but officials said a grand opening ceremony is also coming soon.

It's been a long road for supporters of recreational cannabis businesses in Natick to this point.

According to a Patch report at the time, Natick voted in favor of a 2016 ballot question legalizing cannabis in Massachusetts. In 2018, the Board of Selectmen created marijuana regulations after their moratorium on them ended.

In 2020, the town decided to allow two cannabis retail stores, and Selectmen awarded a host-community agreement in 2021 to Cypress Tree, who is the group behind the Redi storefront.

A medical marijuana store, Bountiful Farms, opened in Natick in October 2021. The town has not capped the number of medical marijuana stores that can open, but those stores are not open to the public, only to people with medical marijuana cards.

But as of January 2022, Natick has joined many communities in Massachusetts that have allowed recreational cannabis stores.

Redi is located at the Cloverleaf Mall at 321 Speen St., which is currently home to a Guitar Center, Total Wine and Aldi.
