That Remote Job Text Might Not Be a Real Job
A promising recruiter text could be a scam. Here's what job seekers should check before replying, clicking or sharing personal information.

It starts with a message that sounds promising:
“Hi! We came across your resume and think you’d be a great fit for a remote position.”

Check whether the job appears on the company’s official website. Look closely at the recruiter’s email address. Be cautious if the conversation moves immediately to messaging apps, requests for personal information, or any demand that you pay money in order to get paid.
And remember: a professional-looking message, company logo or job description does not automatically mean the person contacting you actually represents that company.
