Retired Natick Lieutenant Dies at His Home
"His knowledge, abilities and especially his wit will be sorely missed. He is greatly respected by all."

NATICK, MA—Retired Natick Lt. Alfred Grassey died on Sunday, July 10, at his home.
"Lt. Grassey served with distinction from 1972 until his retirement in 2004," wrote Natick police on their Facebook page, "during his tenure he held the positions of Patrol Officer, Motor Officer, Detective, Sergeant (Patrol), Sergeant (Detective) and ultimately Lieutenant where he served as Operations Commander, Investigations Commander and Community Services Commander."
Grassey didn't want to fully retire, so he returned to the department as Meter Control Officer and also assisted the Town’s Emergency Management Team.

Grassey's wife Durinda and daughter Lindsey have planned a Memorial Service in early August in celebration of his life.
