Salute to the Champions!

This past Tuesday, March 12, the Chabad Center in Natick hosted a local JewQ Championship. After months of studying the special JewQ curriculum, with several tests along the way, the students were ready for the championship. And what a show-down it was! The evening celebrated Jewish learning featuring high tech game show style questions, where contestants answered questions in a variety of cool and fun ways - including with glow sticks - and wowed the audience with their extensive knowledge of Jewish traditions and Jewish Heroes, etc. The contestants were students of the GEO Jewish After School as well as other local area students between grades 3 through 7 who had scored above 85 percent on their JewQ tests.

Rabbi Levi Fogelman opened the evening with greetings and a prayer. Mrs. Chanie Fogelman, who had studied with each of the students, welcomed the families and explained the order of the evening. The gameshow consisted of 4 rounds including a "lightening round". Judges were keeping score. Finally, there was an award ceremony and special prizes.

All the kids who were part of this local Championship, are eligible to join an exciting "Shabbaton" hosted by the International JewQ, where kids and families come from all over the world and enjoy a weekend with trips, entertainment, great food and ultimately the final competition with more awards, medals, and prizes.
