Semiautomatic Rifle Found In Unlocked Minivan In Natick: Reports

The Natick man was charged with having a banned weapon.

NATICK, MA—A Natick man is facing charges after police confiscated a Bushmaster Semiautomatic M4 rifle from his minivan the morning of Sept. 29, according to reports.

Jared F. Newhall-Thayer, 23, left the banned weapon in an unlocked minivan in front of his house, reports WCVB-TV. A youth who was walking on West Central Street thought he saw a machine gun inside the vehicle and called his family, who called police.
