STRIVERS RUNNING CLUB FOR GIRLS 4th ANNUAL MOTHER’S DAY 5K ROAD RACE SET FOR MAY 14

-- Registration Now for May 14, 2017 Race in Natick --

April 13, 2017 (Natick, MA)— From the Marathon to Mother’s Day, now is the time to register for the 4th Annual Strivers Running Club for Girls Mother’s Day 5K Road Race. Scheduled for Sunday, May 14th, the annual race features pre-and post-race festivities beginning at 8:30 am at Natick High School. Registration is open and all ages are encouraged to participate in this family-friendly community event.

According to Strivers founder and coach Colleen Phelps, the race has quickly become a tradition for many families on Mother’s Day. “It has been incredible to watch runners return to the race, and each year they bring new family members and friends to run with them or cheer them on,” said Phelps. “We have grown so much in terms of number of participants, bystanders, and sponsors. From children running their first race to seasoned athletes, this race is for everyone who wants a fun way to kick off their Mother’s Day celebrations and support a wonderful community resource, Embrace a Family.”

Giving back to the community is paramount to the running club, and Strivers has a history of working with local non-profits to help raise money and awareness for numerous causes. As it has for the past several years, a portion of the proceeds from the race will benefit the Natick non-profit Embrace A Family, a program of the Rotary Club of Natick helping those in Natick with cancer. Founded by the family and friends of two Natick moms who passed away from cancer in 2005, Embrace A Family provides direct access to a community and support network to help with the financial and emotional strain on families during treatment and recovery phases of cancer.

Everyone’s contributions are vital to the success of the race and we are honored to partner with these amazing local businesses for this community building event.”

The 3.1 mile run begins at 8:30 am on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Natick High School, 15 West Street, Natick, MA. The entry fee before May 8, 2017 is $30 for adults and $20 for students 13 years or younger. Register by April 27, 2017 and receive a free T-shirt.
