There Have Been More Than 60 Hit and Runs in Natick So Far This Year; Here's Another One

Natick police say they log in a report of a hit and run nearly every day. This one was caught on surveillance.

NATICK, MA — On April 30, Natick police received a report from a victim of a hit and run. The incident was one of 60 police have logged in the first four months of this year.

"That equates to a report every other day," wrote police. "Insurance is expensive, but it’s not a reason to leave the burden entirely on the victim. It shouldn’t be hard to put yourself in the shoes of the victim and take responsibility for what has happened. It is just sheet metal, easily fixed. You didn’t commit a crime … until you left."

Some of a recent hit and run was captured on camera, during which a large Ford 250 or 350 gives a little bump and grind to the car next to him.

"You can see that the male party is aware of what has happened because he examines the damage, walks around with his hands on his head and then engages a female in conversation," said police. "This female may be associated with the gentleman, but appears older and walks with a cane."

Although not the clearest of video, you can discern the male is white, said police, bearded and has either a small ponytail or bun.
