Tractor-Trailer Hits Utility Pole, Causes 'Severe Damage'
The crash pulled down a transformer and caused a leak. Police are investigating what caused the accident.

NATICK, MA -- A crash involving a tractor-trailer hitting a utlity pole on Michigan Drive in Natick this morning caused “serious damage and traffic delays” in that part of town.
Chief James G. Hicks said that Natick police responded around 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday to Michigan Drive, where a 2012 Freightliner hit a utility pole, causing it to collapse and pull down wires and a leaking transformer.
Michigan Drive reopened, but the incident shut down the road until just about 1 p.m., when the scene was finally cleared.

No one was injured in the crash and the incident remains under investigation while police determine whether any citations will be issued to the operator of the truck.
“We are thankful that no one was injured in this crash,” Chief Hicks said in a statement. “It can be unnerving to see a utility pole down with wires on the ground, but thanks to the quick action from emergency responders we were able to keep this situation under control and reopen the road in a reasonable amount of time.”

Eversource is currently on scene working to repair damage to the pole and wires.
