Westborough 2016 Election: How Many Voted Compared to 2012, 2008?
Early voting in Westborough this election beat the national average, 775 absentee ballots were mailed and 74 voted from overseas.

WESTBOROUGH, MA—How did the election of 2012 that re-elected President Obama compare to the voter turnout this year in Westborough?
Of the 12,189 registered voters in Westborough, a little more than 10,000 voted in the 2016 presidential election, representing approximately an 80 percent turnout. Of those, 4,507 (or 37 percent) voted early.
"That's above the national average, and about 2,000 more than I expected," said Town Clerk Wendy Mickel.

Also for Westborough, 775 absentee ballots were mailed, and 74 overseas ballots were emailed. Nearly 5,500 voted at the polls on election day.
In 2012, it was similar, said Mickel. Then, 9,257 of the 11,999 voters registered at that time voted, representing nearly 80 percent. In 2008, 76 percent of Westborough voters cast ballots, with 9,063 out of 11,968 registered voters that year.
