Whitney Place Aims for Best Crab Cakes in MetroWest

Whitney Place Assisted Living Residences will participate in the Taste of MetroWest Tuesday.

hopes to claim the title of "Best Appetizer" at  tonight's Director of dining services Don Jalbert and chefs Kenny Haywood and Christopher Norton will enter their spicy crab cakes with a Cajun remoulade sauce. 

Jalbert, who has attended the Culinary Institute of America, has been director of dining services since 1999, according to Bill McGinley, the executive director of the Natick Whitney Place Assisted Living Residences.

"Don's goal for the evening is to show the world that food served in assisted living residences and nursing homes is as good as or better than you would find in area restaurants," said McGinley.

Jalbert, Haywood and Norton participate in the "Fresh Taste" event run by the Natick Visiting Nurse Association every year.

The Taste of MetroWest will be held tonight, (Tuesday, March 15) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel.
