When, over time, words divide,
And have two meanings found inside,
They sure do feel broken,
And seem too often misspoken.

As a result, I grieve
When I hear them say "cleave".
It makes want to hurl,
As down the drain I swirl.

I don't know if they mean hold tight,
Or that I should run away in fright.
Should I, right beside them, sit,
Or decide it is time to split?
