Bob's hopes were fading. He would not finish the chess set in time to make it a Christmas gift. Bob had won a contest, a fancy 3-D printer which arrived on the 15th. The furious effort at learning how to do 3-D CAD design was moving along, but the order of a second reel of plastic filament was still on its way. In the days before the holiday, Bob was printing all his experiments with the reel of blue filament.
He was proud of the basic design, though. The rook/castle looked good with the crenelations on top.
