• Karen Peirce to fill open seat on Park & Rec Commission (needhamobserver.com) — Needham resident Karen Peirce has been chosen to fill the vacant Park & Recreation Commission seat through April, following the resignation of former chair Chris Gerstel. With 15 years' experience as the department's former assistant director, she's expected to step in quickly and help guide local parks and recreation programs before deciding whether to run in the spring election.
   

• $41M from state green lights NHA's Linden plans (needhamobserver.com) — Needham's Linden Chambers public housing redevelopment is moving forward after the state awarded $41 million, allowing work on 76 new units to begin as early as 2027. Current tenants will be temporarily relocated with assistance and the right to return, while the multi-phase project replaces aging, non-ADA-compliant studios with more modern, accessible apartments for seniors and residents with disabilities.
