Needham house fire that claimed life of 21-year-old woman ruled accidental - Boston News, Weather, Sports (whdh.com) — Investigators have ruled that the December 2025 house fire on Woodworth Street in Needham, which killed 21-year-old college student Kayla Corrigan, was accidental with multiple possible ignition sources in the garage. Officials found no evidence of arson, and two other people inside the home were able to escape safely.

Needham grieving after high school student's sudden death (nbcboston.com) — Needham families are mourning the sudden death of Needham High School junior Elijah Chen, with school staff and police support dogs on campus to comfort students. Counselors and guidance services are being made available, and the superintendent is urging parents to use recommended resources when talking with their children about this loss.

Olin College of Engineering listed among eight Massachusetts schools in the national top 50. Beverly Joyce Breed Hovey, 90 (duxburyclipper.com) — A longtime South Shore resident, Beverly Joyce Breed Hovey once began her family life in Needham before later settling in Duxbury, where she taught nursery school and was active in church and community groups. Her large family remembers her warmth, creativity, love of animals, and joy in gathering people together, and they invite memorial donations to local animal rescue organizations.
