11th Annual Newton Inspires Event To Be Held May 3
The event emcee will be former WGBH host Barbara Howard, who will lead a live conversation with Newton Public Schools teachers.

NEWTON, MA â The 11th annual Newton Inspires event, presented by Newton Schools Foundation (NSF), will be held on Tuesday, May 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Angier Elementary School.
The event emcee will be former WGBH host Barbara Howard, who will lead a live conversation with Newton Public Schools teachers to discuss their work in the classroom and what keeps them inspiring their students to learn and achieve.
In addition, there will be snacks, musical performances, testimonials and a short film highlighting some of the NSF grants that are being implemented in the district.

âAs we come together again in person, we thought we would feature some of the cityâs most interesting and inspiring individuals, our Newton Public Schools teachers,â said Amy Werner, co-president of Newton Schools Foundation, in a statement. âThe evening is sure to be memorable as we get a peek into the classroom, where all the creativity happens.â
Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased here. NPS teachers and staff are invited as NSFâs guests. All proceeds will go to NSF, which funds grants to allow teachers to try new approaches in the classroom, professional development for educators, and programs that address inequities associated with race, income and social identity.
