2 Teens Cited With Assault And Battery At JP Licks: Newton Police Logs

There were two reports of larcenies, a couple car break ins and an incident involving two teens and a water bottle in the city.

NEWTON, MA — There were a number of reports of larcenies, a couple car break ins and an incident involving two teens and an empty water bottle in the city this weekend. The following is from Newton Police, who stress that just because someone reports an incident does not mean that's the way it happened. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Careful with your valuables: Two Newtonville Avenue residents called to report that someone broke into their cars while they were parked in his driveway, locked overnight. One resident reported he locked his car, the other said he'd left his van unlocked.

Assault at JP Licks?: Two teens, one from Newton and one from Roxbury, were cited for assault and battery charges for hitting someone on the back of the head with a plastic bottle at JP Licks in Newton Center around 9:46 p.m.. No one was arrested.

Yikes: Someone called to report an animal was not on leash at the Brae Burn Country Club on Fuller street around 8 a.m.

Fireworks?: Someone called police around 1 a.m. to report fireworks going off around Elm Road.

Larcenies: Two calls came in to Newton Police one right after the other for reports of larcenies, one at the Wegmans, and another at For Eyes Optical on Needham Street just after 10 a.m.

Traffic violation: Trevor Tyrone Headley, 23, of Dudley Street, Roxbury, was pulled over for failing to stop at a red light and then arrested for driving without a license.
