Alert: The Winter Parking Ban is On

The winter parking ban is in effect. Don't get a ticket.

Through April 15, drivers are not allowed to park on any Newton street for longer than one hour between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

If a “snow emergency” is declared, parking is not allowed on any city street and vehicle owners may be ticketed or their cars towed.

Visit the Newton Police Department at 25 Chestnut Street, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. if you wish to apply for a free municipal parking lot permit.

These permits may be used by Newton residents for overnight parking until April 15 and they are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Bring with you a valid driver’s license and the vehicle registration for the vehicle which will be parked.
