'Amazon' Thief Lifts Door Packages: Newton Police

The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Incidents:

  • Police responded to Wykeham Road for a report of a larceny of a delivered package. The homeowner said that on Nov. 13 around 2:31 p.m., an Amazon employee dropped off a cardboard box and stole a blue plastic Gap bag that had been dropped off seconds before. A white cargo van pulled up to the front of the house, and a black male is seen watching the workmen in front of the residence. The man walks away from both packages and walks back to his truck. A male is then seen walking from his truck and returning to the front door, and proceeds to bend down and open the blue Gap bag, using the cardboard box as a shield. The man then walked away with the blue Gap bag.
  • On Nov. 22, police responded to Jackson Street to serve a warrant out of Boston District Court. Colleen Elizabeth Curry, 21, 239 Jackson St., Newton, was arrested and charged with OUI liquor.
