There's something new to discover the next time you visit Crystal Lake! The City of Newton's Department of Arts and Culture is inviting residents to celebrate the colorful new Life Below murals at the Crystal Lake Bathhouse with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Created by artist Ruby Rose, Life Below brings a fresh burst of creativity and imagination to the popular community destination. The bold, whimsical murals take inspiration from the real and imagined activities of people who visit Crystal Lake, offering a playful new way to experience a familiar Newton landmark.
Located on the side of the Bathhouse leading to the swimming beach, the artwork adds a splash of color to the lakeside setting and invites visitors to look at Crystal Lake through a new lens.
The project was commissioned by SPARK Newton and gifted to the City of Newton, bringing local art and community spirit together in a way residents can enjoy for years to come.
The upcoming ribbon-cutting ceremony will bring together Rose, project partners, City representatives, and community members to celebrate the installation and the creativity behind it.
Whether you're a regular at Crystal Lake or simply appreciate seeing public spaces transformed through art, the new murals offer one more reason to stop by, take a closer look, and enjoy a little extra color in Newton.
Residents are encouraged to join the celebration and help welcome Life Below to Crystal Lake!
